Here at the Hero-Hunts Foundation (HHF), we are dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, and their families.
We do this through several programs and events, each focused on showing our appreciation for the sacrifices these incredible people have made, and continue to make, for our country.

The HHF Mission
The mission of the Hero-Hunts Foundation is to recognize those who have served and sacrificed for our country by providing them the opportunity to reconnect with the outdoors.
Our services fulfill this mission by making a profound difference in the lives of our veterans through healing outdoor experiences, tangible measures of appreciation, and support of the veteran community.
The History of the Hero-Hunts Foundation
The Hero-Hunts Foundation was started in 2016 with one goal: to express our gratitude to the Service Members and Veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.
We hosted our first hunt in November of that year. This initial outing included seven service members and was held on land provided by local farmers and land-owners who partnered with us to show their support.
Since then, we have expanded to include larger hunts, appreciation events, family trips and outings, and additional support for our veteran community in Delaware in the surrounding area.

Here’s a look at our core services:
The Hunts
Every year, Hero-Hunts hosts at least one organized hunt with several veterans. These outdoor hunting outings give participants the opportunity to experience a fun, competitive event in a safe and welcoming environment.
The physical and mental toll of military service can be significant. Through our hunts, we aim to provide access to an activity that can ease their stress and improve their health by connecting them with the outdoors and other veterans.

Disney Trips
Is there anything more magical than a family trip to Walt Disney World? Beyond the excitement of traveling to the happiest place on earth, a trip to Disney can be an exceptional family bonding experience that can create lifelong family memories.
Each year, we show our appreciation for our veterans and their loved ones by hosting three to five veteran families on an all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World. These trips give these families a break from everyday life, helping them connect with one another and hopefully relieve at least a little of their stress.
Acts of Kindness
Beyond our big hunts and trips, we aim to show our appreciation through several tangible acts of kindness.
We host a turkey distribution every Thanksgiving, during which we give away 300 turkeys to the families of veterans and service members.
Throughout the year, we also host multiple “Fill-Your-Tank” days at local military bases. On these days, we pay for all of the gas pumped at an on-base gas station in our area.
Community Support
Providing care and assistance to those who support service members – including spouses, children, parents, and other loved ones – is part of our mission. Ensuring the well-being of military families and communities through access to resources, educational opportunities, and more is essential for maintaining a strong and resilient military.
One of the ways we support our veteran communities is through back-to-school drives for hundreds of students and teachers. Every year, we strive to provide school supplies and gift cards to those in need.
We also support fundraising efforts of other area organizations working with veterans in our communities. This is done through our various partnerships, including several fundraisers at Harvest Ridge Winery.
