Harvest Ridge Winery to Help More American Heroes
Harvest Ridge Winery already supports the Hero-Hunts Foundation through annual events and fundraisers like the Harvest Ridge Winery Food Truck Competition. By officially gifting Harvest Ridge to Hero Hunts, the Nunans hope to expand our current programs, develop new offerings, and impact more veterans, service members, and military families.
“With the gift of the winery, we are increasing the Hero-Hunts Foundation’s capacity and ability to serve more American heroes,” says Chuck Nunan, founder of Harvest Ridge Winery and board president of the Hero-Hunts Foundation. “Our goal is to bring Hero-Hunts programs to more military bases in our region and beyond.”
A Legacy of Philanthropy at Harvest Ridge
Chuck and his wife, Chris, opened the doors to Harvest Ridge Winery on November 1, 2013. Today, this family farm winery has two locations – the Delaware Tasting Room, situated on the original property in Marydel, DE, and the Pennsylvania Tasting Room, located in Toughkenamon, PA. The label has also expanded to include Rebel Seed Cidery.
The Nunans strongly believe in giving back to their community, spending much of their free time volunteering and supporting area organizations and causes. This has been evident in the many fundraising events and opportunities hosted by Harvest Ridge since it opened 12 years ago.
In 2016, the Nunan family established the Hero-Hunts Foundation as a way to openly express their gratitude to the men and women who serve our country. This is accomplished through several programs, including hunting outings, Disney Trips for military families, Fill-Your-Tank Days, back-to-school drives, and more. Our foundation also supports other organizations with similar missions through grants, donations, and partnerships.
