Since 2016, the Hero-Hunts Foundation has hosted an annual Shotgun Deer Hunt for veterans and service members.
This Hunt brings together these American heroes for a day spent outside, connecting with nature and healing both physically and mentally.
This year’s Deer Hunt will take place on Saturday, November 21, 2026.

Are you interested in joining Hero-Hunts for the 2026 Shotgun Deer Hunt?
The Hunt – and all of our events – are open to all service members and veterans who have honorably served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Participation is not restricted to only those who have seen combat or have been injured.
You do not need prior hunting experience or gear to participate. We’ll provide gear, guns, access to land, and an experienced guide to help you make the most of your day in the woods. If you harvest a deer, we’ll even pay to have it processed.
To participate in this year’s Hunt on Saturday, November 21, register using this form. You will be notified if you are selected to participate – we do aim to be as inclusive as possible when selecting veterans and service members to join our Hunt!
All participating hunters, landowners, and sponsors will also be invited to join us for our annual post-event dinner on Sunday, December 13.

Volunteer as a Guide
If you have experience with hunting, we are looking for volunteers to guide our hunters throughout the day.
You’ll offer advice and moral support as well as have the opportunity to personally connect with a small group of veterans and service members.

Donate Your Land
To minimize costs, we ask that area landowners donate a portion of their land for our hunters to use on November 21.
